Do you accept insurance?

No. Insurance companies will not cover our services, as they are considered to be “psycho-social and psycho-educational.”  However, costs for services have been historically low (ranging from $10/session for sibSUPPORT to $45 – $60/session for 1:1 developmental consultations). If needed, we are also able to work closely with families to create a payment plan.

If needed, we are also able to work closely with families to create a payment plan.

How do I get services for my child/teen?

For every family, the first step to participating in Tristan’s Quest’s variety of services is to have an intake. The intake process takes approximately two hours, and available times vary throughout the week. The cost is $200.

During this intake, families and the child in question will talk with founder and executive director Dr. Jean Allen about their family history, strengths and weaknesses of the child, diagnosis/es (if any), what their family does for fun, and much more. We require that the child be present, and as many caregivers or family members who want to be part of the process may attend. After the intake, the child will be eligible for any appropriate services (as deemed by age restrictions and discretion of the executive director) for up to three years.

No forms are required from the family at this time, but if the parent or caregiver prefers, he/she can bring psychological assessments, IEPs, and similar.

What are your hours of operation?

9:00 am – 7:00 pm Monday – Thursday
9:00 am – 10:00 pm Friday
9:00 am – 1:00 pm Saturday

Hours vary. Programs and 1:1 sessions generally begin at 3:00 on weekdays. Morning sessions are available for home schoolers or preschool children.

To speak with someone directly, calling before 3:00 on weekdays is recommended. Otherwise, leave a detailed message and someone will get back to you at their earliest convenience. Please schedule an appointment to ensure that someone will be available to assist you. Call (336) 547-7460 to schedule.

How do I get involved?

There are many opportunities to get involved at Tristan’s Quest, for interns as well as volunteers. We allow for hands-on training and education in the children’s mental health field. We appreciate the high level of interest, hard work, and dedication to our cause. Because positions are competitive, we require an interview as well as a criminal background screening (which costs $6.50 for the applicant)* prior to obtaining a placement.

Please call and schedule an interview if interested. Available interview times vary.

Before an interview, please be familiar with our website. The following links will be helpful.
